Hi there! I’m Maddison, and that’s my husband/best friend Nick. Oh yeah, and our Bernese Mountain Dog, Winnie. We are transplants living in the Queen Anne district of Seattle, WA. I was born and raised in East Tennessee, Nick in New Zealand.
By day I am a pastry chef, whipping up delicious treats, for the beautiful residents of Seattle. Nick is an audio producer.
I grew up on a farm in Tennessee. That’s where my love of cooking came from. My grandma has a very simple way of doing things, but I like to think that’s where I learned the basics. Also, where I found my love of southern food. I moved to Seattle when I was nineteen, and immediately dove, head first, into the culinary world. In the past five years of living here I have worked; at a gourmet food shop, managed a coffee shop, been an early morning baker, catering manager, and a prep/line cook. I want to be able to do it all if I ever have a restaurant of my own. Ultimately though I want to do something small where I get to work one on one with local growers and purveyors.
On the cooking front, I enjoy just about anything. I love taking fresh ingredients from here in the Pacific Northwest and making delicious, comforting meals. I have a weakness for sweets and I constantly crave chocolate, so I do most of the baking. Nick is great at creating ethnic dishes and educating me on them, since I didn’t grow up with that in the South. He also makes some pretty mean cocktails. I strive everyday to learn something new, and better myself as a chef. Please, feel free to look around, ask questions, and enjoy our journey.
